Welcome to Captain Chris' Marine Supply, LLC! As the Founder and
President, I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day
to stop by our webstore.
Captain Chris' Marine Supply, has long been a dream of mine.
I've been boating since the ripe and impressionable age of four,
and roughly ten years later, at the age of fourteen, I realized
that some day, I would open this store. The first years I spent
on the water were not the most enjoyable or relaxing my family
ever enjoyed. No, instead they were quite the opposite.
My dad bought our first boat in the dead of winter. He knew
very little about boats at the time, but he knew that he wanted
a way for our young family to come together and enjoy each
other's company. So, on a cold January day, he went and bought
our first boat, a 17' outboard powered bowrider. We spent many
hours in our garage getting the boat ready for the water, and
when launch day came, the troubles began. My dad had put off
getting the trailer hitch installed on his station wagon all
winter, so we borrowed my uncle's truck to get our boat to its
new home on Lake Chautauqua. Halfway there, the motor in the
truck started consuming oil at a furious pace. Then came the
torrential downpour -- one of the worst in Chautauqua's history.
Finally, when we arrived at the marina, no-one in our party knew
how to back the trailer in the water. Luckily we were saved by
fisherman who were pulling their boat out in the rain.
We got the boat in the water only to hit bottom on a sandbar
on the way to the slip. This, yet again, should've been a
warning of things to come. Due to the weather, we tied the boat
up, covered it and left. The next morning my father received a
phone call from the marina, asking what color the cover we had
on our boat was. He said the "correct" answer, and they told him
that the boat had sunk during the night. It turns out that the
boat had a crack in the hull we hadn't seen, due to the position
on the trailer during our pre-purchase inspection.
He bought our second boat a few weeks later, a little wiser
for the wear. And we spent many a day on the pristine waters of
Chautauqua, albeit not always troublefree. The little outboard
did give us fair share of problems, but it was on that boat,
that I truely developed a strong appreciation for boating. We
had only paid $1300 for the boat, and I mention that because
boating doesn't have to be expensive! I say that and not only do
I mean it, I try my best to make sure your boating is less
expensive by shopping with us and saving money.
The founding and opening never was realized until some years
later, due both to financial and time constraints. But now, we
are here, with one solitary focus -- our customers. Most of the
boating I've ever done in my lifetime, including in the present
day and time, has been done on a budget. As the founder, I
realize that this is the case with most American households that
proudly call themselves Boaters. As such, each and every product
we sell is not only of the highest quality, it is offered at the
lowest prices we can offer to you!
I look forward to serving you in your coming visits to our
webstore, and remind you to stop by often. We are constantly
working around the clock to expand our product catalog, and in
doing so, we increasingly become your number one source for all
your boat related products, whether it is as sophisticated as a
GPS unit, or as simple, yet crucial as a drain plug.
Please, feel free to contact us should you have any questions
or concerns. We're here to help!
Sincerely yours,
Christopher Lester
